This is incorrect. If you are adding a binary file to the tree "cvs add
-kb filename" will add it as a binary file.
Or you can add entries to CVSROOT/cvswrappers so that CVS will
automatically import all .gif .jpg etc files as binary without needing
to be told otherwise. Look up the use of cvswrappers in the CVS manual,
specifically the -kb options. We are using CVS here with many binary
files (Word, pictures, executables) without any problems.
