Hi Larry

Sorry for troubling you again. Just wanted to find out do you use the CVS systems in your organisation or are you involved in development of new versions of CVS. The reason I am asking this is because my manager wants me to verify this fact from a few users so that we can make an intelligent decision.

Also how can I encrypt the passwords in the password file what method would that be?
Thanks
Regards
Mudit

Yes, nearly everyone uses CVS without Kerberos, which is why no one
noticed the autoconf problems that caused your difficulty (they've been
fixed in the current development version for some time). What you're
giving up is the ability to use the "Direct connection with GSSAPI" and
"Direct connection with kerberos" methods of connecting to a remote
repository: <http://www.cvshome.org/docs/manual/cvs_2.html#SEC26>.
These methods provide some additional security for remote repositories,
but they're not much used and thus not well tested, and they're almost
certainly more trouble than they're worth unless you're already set up
to use GSSAPI and/or Kerberos for other things.
