telnetconnection on port 2401 does not work correct

Hi,

what can be the reason that when I try to make a test-telnetsession to port 2401
on my cvs-server and it answers with the a helppart of cvs.

I think normaly there must be an answer of bad auth method.
Using the cvs-command it comes up the message  broken pipe ... ( possible a
bug).
