strange file state for a file in Attic

The latest version of this files as seen is 1.3 and the state is not dead. I believe every file in Attic should have the state "dead". If the state is not dead, it should be in the repository not in the Attic directory.

I am trying to understand what could have caused this behaviour and what would be the best way to correct this....

I realized this when I did an update with -D "date". This file is not retrieved during an update of the "HEAD" (i believe this gives everything in the repository without checking anything) But it is retreived with the -D "date" command. (because i believe cvs goes thru ALL (rep+attic) to figure which files were alive at "DATE" and updates this file.

"DATE" given in cvs update -D "DATE" is later than 2001.10.18.

The server is accessed thru :pserver method. The server is running cvs 1.11 on SunOS 5.7
arcin uses Linux : 1.11.1p1
adrian uses WinCVS  on NT. (1.2)
