What if deleting a dir in repository

Hi,

What's going to happen if I delete a directory of my
CVS repository?

I want to delete the whole directory, which contains
lots of sub-dir and files, from my CVS repository. If
I first delete files under each sub-dir and then run
cvs with -P option, it's very tedious. Is there a
better way other than deleting the whole dir from
repository? I did that (of course, backed up the dir)
and cvs continue to work.
