Importing files

Hi,
   I have set off directories which contains files of both ascii and binary,
which I need to import them into CVS repository. I know that we have to use
keyword substitution for binary files, but since I have both ascii and
binary files in a directory, I am not sure what happens if i use -kb option
while importing the whole directory.
Is there any specific way which I can use for this type of import?.
