i don't get any error mssg when i restart the inetd process.

there isn't any pserver service  in  linuxconf , is it normal ? Are the identd and xinet services have to be activated ?

The line concerning cvspserver in inetd.conf is " cvspserver stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/cvspserver cvspserver"
and in /etc/services the line corresponding is "cvspserver 2401/tcp"
is it right ?

for information : I'm using a mandrake 7.2 and the rmp package of cvs i'm using is cvs-1.11-3.1.mdk.i585.rpm

Thanks for your help

The relavent contents of /etc/services and /etc/inetd.conf would help diagnose
the problem.

cvs pserver is meant to be run from inetd. What messages do you get when run
from inetd?
