Stdout error - broken pipe

Somebody help!!

I am not able to check out the CVS repository. The repository at SourceForge 
has the files but it says 0 adds and 0 commits. And 
whenver I try to checkout using WinCVS, I get a "broken pipe" error. Sometimes 
the ssh window closes before I can see any error 
message.

What is the problem and what should I do to correct it?
