Yep.  We're both wrong.

Agreed.  Never said they weren't.  Never said they were.  CVSweb is an http
(or some could argue, an HTML) interface to cvs.  And XYZ (whatever that
is) would be an XML interface to cvs.  Would it have been better if I used
HTML instead of HTTP as my example?  It's been a long day already.

I want to extract data from CVS in XML format.

I don't know.  I've not heard of WSDL until now.  Reading
http://www.w3.org/TR/wsdl, I think my answer is yes.

The primary reason for wanting CVS repository data in XML format is for
data interrogation in order to populate a database.
