You can create a script to be added to the commitinfo file which performs
the syntax check and exits if it finds an error.

Subject: verify sintax

Hi Guys,
I was wordering if somebody already have some script to check that I wan to
do, here is my problem:
I would like to check when someones checks in a file with exitension of
.XXX, I would like the file syntax of the .XXX to be verified. If there is
a syntax error it is reported back to the user before the commit is allowed.
This allows the developers to verify there .XXX without doing the next step.

thanks for any help.
