That means that either /home/cvs doesn't exactly match one of the
server's --allow-root options or you've specified an incorrect
user/password combination. If the server is the latest release of CVS
(1.11.2) and your system defines a LOG_AUTHPRIV syslog facility, there
should be more information about the exact problem in the syslog (note
that LOG_AUTHPRIV messages contain sensitive data like passwords, so
they are usually not logged in the same file as regular messages but in
a separate file that is only readable by root).
