Merging two repository

Hi,
I want to know if it's possible to merge two different repository into
one... I mean, I've got directory foo under one repository and
directory bar under another. It's possible to move the file from one
rep. to the other without importing them (I don't want to lose
history) ?
I was thinking to just move the directory and merge the history file;
but I want to know if there's some other (working) way.
