CVS problems

Here are my problems with CVS.
We had a repository on cvs 1.11 running on Redhat
linux 7.0. On discovering problems with the linux
machine, I copied one project on to a Mac os x machine
running cvs 1.10.
The first problem is to get MacCVS 3.1 to work with
the new server. None of the menu commands seems to be
working except the command line. If I want to checkout
for instance, I have to enter the command in the
command line item of the cvs admin menu.

The second problem is that cvs seems to be doubling
line endings on some text files and this is creating
compilation problems.

The third one is the import command not working even
on the command line. If I want to import a new
project, I have to do it from the server machine,
which does not seem right.
Thank you for any help.
