Subject: | CVS File Locking Question |

I have a file locking problem. Hopefully someone can help me shed some
light on it for me. I created two user groups: cvsusers and cvsadmin I made sure that the entire repository is
accessible rwx to cvsusers. The cvsadmin group has no permissions to anything. When I check out a module that I own and try to
lock a file therein, I receive this message: (I’m using the WinCVS client interface) cvs admin -l testfile1 (in directory
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\TASC\Sandbox\lawriem) cvs [server aborted]: usage is restricted to
members of the group cvsadmin Obviously CVS doesn’t believe that neither I
(lawriem) nor cvsusers (the group to which I belong) has the authority to lock
the files. When I add myself to the
cvsadmin group, I’m able to lock the files flawlessly. Now, I would rather avoid adding everyone to the
cvsadmin group (though I suppose I could!) and would like to understand what I
did during CVS configuration and fix the actual problem. Thanks for any insight! Michael ================================= "Do I contradict
