Not as long as you use a corresponding CVS client. The client is
responsible for converting between the host's text file format and the
neutral format used by the client/server protocol. The only time you
get into trouble is if you have a directory that's shared between
different types of systems (Unix and DOS/Windows, for example) and you
use the wrong CVS client for the type of file you actually have there.
