when i make "cvs co -c" i get an error message:
"cvs [checkout aborted]: failed to open the modules file"
Probably the file is corrupted ?

Probably in the CVSROOT/modules file. First, make sure you commited the
change to the file. Does "test" show up when you tell CVS to dump the
module database 'cvs co -c'?
