getting branches and versions

Hello everyone,
I am making some tools to graphically surf cvs including branches (I
know there are tools to do this, but I have my reasons).  Anyway, I was
wondering if there was a script that anyone has wrote (prefer php, but
any language will do) that gives a list of all the versions and branches
of a file.  Ordering doesn't matter as I have a script to sort and show,
I just didn't want to have to write another parser to get the versions
if I didn't have too.

Basically the output could be

1.1
1.2
1.2.2.1
1.2.2.2
etc. (or out of order, doesn't matter)
