RE: CVS Protocol History

Alexander,

I have browsed the doc/ChangeLog and figured out approximately when these
features were added.

We already have ways to deal with old servers, but am now looking to use
Is-modified request instead of Modified and save sending a file up to the
server. I was looking for the impact of such a change.

As far as the disclaimer goes, alas I have no control. Our lame email
gateway automatically appends it to outgoing messages.

Hi Sriram,

I am not sure of the answer to your question. You could use cvs
annonate on the cvs source code.

>From your question, I guess that you might be writing a cvs
client which uses the protocol directly. If you are, you
probably want to check out LibCVS ( http://libcvs.cvshome.org/ ),
where we are developing libraries to access cvs. A library could
help you deal with problems like working with servers that don't
support certain requests.

BTW your confidentiality disclaimer is inappropriate for public
mailing lists. Look in the recent archives of the info-cvs or
bug-cvs for long discussions on these disclaimers.
