If you are asking if a 'cvs import -d ' will cause the commit time on a
version created by the import to be that of the file being imported,
then the answer is yes.

If you are asking if someone does a 'cvs checkout -D"time-stamp"' before
and after such an import will potentially generate different results as
to what files are checked out due to the presence of imported files with
a timestamp based on the file, then the answer is yes.

The '-D time-stamp' option is not guarenteed to provide the state of the
repository at the 'time-stamp' given, but only the state of any files in
the repository at the time given.

If you do not like this feature, I suppose it might not hurt to ask
nicely if "Ralf S. Engelschall" <address@hidden> could consider
making the importinfo script addition able to get the information as to
what flags have been passed and therefore let it be local policy if you
are going to allow 'cvs import -d' commands to be used with your
repository.

        Enjoy!
