Yes, CVS on AIX supports that when using pserver method of authentication.

Subject: Bad repository message
Is it possible for CVS on a UNIX platform to notify the user when the CVS
repository doesn't exist?
For example, when logging in using some other client (WinCVS, etc), does the
server support sending back
"error 0 D:\repos: no such repository" (or some other message) to notify the
client that the repository doesn't exist?
I know the CVSNT version does support that but does the UNIX version support
this sending this message back?
