Querying log messages and more

Hi
I want to do the following.
Query the log messages of all the files in the
repository, get the file names and revision numbers
associated with the log messages that contain a
certain number(task number) and then checkout those
revisions into a directory.
Is there anyway to do this other than writing a
complex script?
Any command I can use? ( other than the cvs log
command) If anyone has done something similar, can you
pls give me a few ideas? I would appreciate any help
on this.
