This is a FAQ. See /usr/share/doc/cvs-<version>/FAQ.bz2 or the 
equivalent file in your installation.

This is Q3 on the import command part.

Both versions are present at the logs. The checked out one is changed 
for the correct version on the first commit, as you said.
