Adam,
Instead of using CVS commit to do your conversion, you could use RCS ci
commands to build your ,v files. I used RCS commands when converting
several CMVision repositories in the past. My end was result was a complete
conversion preserving all revisions, dates, user names, and comments.
ci has -d[date] for date, -w[user] for author and other options.
You can build the ,v files directly into your CVS repository area or move
them into it later.
