Hi Yagiz,

If you must use a GNU/Linux system, choose one that has a reasonable set
of security patches available. Good free distributions include

     - debian
     - gentoo

If you like Redhat, then either Fedora or one of their commercial
options may do the job for you. Many folks also find SuSE to be a
reasonable distribution.

As far as I can tell, you may use any GNU/Linux distirbution you want
and still run a cvs server on it.

Other alternatives for a cvs server exist on a large number of free
systems, open systems and even closed systems. The system you choose
will largely depend on your requirement and your tolerance for the
various kinds of risk that will be associated with each choice.

More interesting trade-offs will include the kind and size of filesytems
you choose for your cvs repositories and how you back them up or
otherwise protect them for accidents.

        Good luck,
        -- Mark
