Setting up a CVS server and clients for SSH connection method

My group has been using CVS for about 2 years, and we have always used
pserver exclusively- no user accounts on the system at all....

Is there some reference or book that can describe all steps needed to
set up authentication via CVS on both the server and clients?

Google search provides very specific issues, mostly with client-side
setup- but I can't seem to find the real basics :)
