cvs & web page management

Greetings CVSers,

 

I would like to automate the copying of a web file from the repository to the web root whenever a file is checked back in.  I am trying to implement the script for the loginfo file at https://www.cvshome.org/dev/text2/sklar.  However, it generates the following error in the updatelog:

 

Update of /usr/local/cvs/testcvs

In directory Rubik:/tmp/cvs-serv5392

Modified Files:

index.html

Log Message:

cvs update: in directory .:

cvs [update aborted]: there is no version here; run 'cvs checkout' first

 

I'm using Eclipse with extSSH to commit a file to the repository.  I've tried checking it out at the file and project levels with the same erroneous result.  Can anyone set me straight?
