Help with CVS

Hi
I am a graduate student at Illinois state university, USA. I am writing a 
research paper on "SCM and web development". One part of the paper talks 
about different tools.

I need some information from any of you who has worked with CVS in a web 
development project. I am looking of rinformation like how good CVS will be 
for this kind of a project, what are pros and cons
