RE: Clearing the stick option???

cvs -H admin says, for -k,

-k subst   Set keyword substitution mode:
  kv   (Default) Substitute keyword and value.

How does one associate "sticky option" with 
keyword and value, for example? Are these
words synonymous in the CVS world?
