Hello,
Ok now that I know how to fix problem with administrative databases not
rebuilding, I tried again to get mail notification working with my
cvs+jail/chroot.
After reading the thread:
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/gnu.cvs.help/browse_thread/thread/374d1ef01251a2cd/f63d2c245c6792fa
I found a very helpfull answer :
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/gnu.cvs.help/msg/42bc8d2d6408198d
I am still not clear why renaming the executable would make a difference
but anyway this is I think the way I will try.
My problem is that I use postfix (debian/testing) and the mail program
uses a shared lib which of course will not be found from the my chroot
env (when copying the exe from /usr/bin to /my-jail/).
How does other people deal with the jail problem.
1. Copying executable is kind of a pain, since after a system update you
have two different copies.
2. Symlink cannot work since you should not be able to go up a level. Or
maybe I should copy everything in the jail and do the symlink from
/usr/bin (I bet I kill apt).
3. I haven't tried hard link but in theory they should work. The problem
is that I am pretty sure that apt will delete the program on the next
update and then write another file, breaking the hard link...
Suggestions very welcome
Mathieu
