What are the permissions on /home/p2homer/cvsroot/CVSROOT itself? And
/home/p2homer/cvsroot, for that matter? Also, would you mind sending a
transcript of a failed session using the global trace (-ttt) option
(e.g. `cvs -ttt co homer')?
Incidentally, why is your CVSROOT/history file executable?
