Installing CVS from scratch

Hi,

I'm new to Linux/Unix, and I need to install CVS on a server that runs
Linux. Could anyone please list or post a link to steps that I can
follow to install CVS on the server? Once CVS is installed I plan to
install CVSweb in order to give remote users access to the repository
on the server through a web interface. I've already downloaded the tar
files for the latest stable versions of CVS and CVSweb, but I'm not
sure how to proceed from there.

Someone had posted a link to the CVS wiki in another discussion, but
that returns a 404 error now. So any help is greatly appreciated.
