*CVS* does indeed still support the -r option. *CVSNT* does not support
it. If you want help for CVSNT, you should consult a CVSNT group, not a
CVS group.
Now, having said that, I will point out that the revision numbers should
be treated as "magic numbers", which have no specific meaning to you and
me. Symbolic tags provide a much more meaningful way of referring to
specific revisions. That is probably why CVSNT dropped support for the
- -r option.
