It might be possible to write something in your loginfo script to cause
a transfer to an FTP server to occur. It is not clear to me that this is

You might want to look into one of these:
Arch http://www.gnu.org/software/gnu-arch/
monotone http://www.venge.net/monotone/
They may or may not let you do what you want.
