IMPORTANT: The importance of chmods

I had no idea that plain-jane chmods were so gosh darn important for
preparing CVS over SSH. See my post here where I start talking about
chmods and then see the post called "OH MY GOD! (What did I miss?) "
under the group comp.security.ssh
for the rest of the story. I blew way too, too many hours on this. I
still find it hard to accept that chmod 777 over 755 wade things worse
not better.
