Strange Branch tags issue |

Hi ALL
I am facing a strange issue.
We have a main (HOT) branch and feature
branch.
Developers report that some new files were
checked in into main branch, but myteriously
they
also have the branch tag of Feature branch, which
shouldn't be there. This is causing the new files to
appear
in the feature branch due to the branch tag, which is
not desired. I haven't been able to debug this, not
sure how
this happened.
Does someone has any idea how this might
happen.
Also how can i can recover from this situation
now.
Can I selectively remove the unwanted branch tag
from
the new files?
Please Help!
PS: We use
Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11.2
(client/server)
On Linux
thanks in advance
pranab
