cvs [update aborted]: invalid change text

I get this error:
$ cvs -d:pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/clocc up
- -r 2.0 rpm.lisp
M rpm.lisp
$ cvs -d:pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/clocc up
- -r 1.17 rpm.lisp
RCS file: /cvsroot/clocc/clocc/src/cllib/rpm.lisp,v
retrieving revision 2.0
retrieving revision 1.17
cvs [update aborted]: invalid change text in
/cvsroot/clocc/clocc/src/cllib/rpm.lisp,v

as one can see from "cvs log", 2.0 comes right after 1.17, so,
presumably, the (first) error is in the revision 1.17.
the file is http://sds.podval.org/data/rpm.lisp,v

any suggestion on how to repair the file?
