cvs commit problem

Hello,

I am using CVS to work on a project from different physical locations.
I have a central repository on a server, and connect to that server
from several locations through SSH.

Since recently, I have a problem committing changes from home (from
the other locations I have no problems). I am using Mac OS X (10.5.4).
The problem is as follows: if I type "cvs commit" from the project
directory, I am asked for a password. When the password is accepted, I
am asked to edit the LOG file. When I've edited the log file, and quit
the editor, the CVS program does nothing. After a few minutes, I get
the following error message (host name removed):

Read from remote host ###: Operation timed out
cvs [commit aborted]: end of file from server (consult above
messages if any)

The strange thing is, however, that the "update" and "checkout"
commands work fine, with the same repository and the same project.
Also, I can use SSH to login on the server on which the repository
resides, without problems whatsoever.

Does anybody have a solution to this problem, or possible pointers to
where I could find a solution? Thanks.

groente
