Thanks so much for your help and interest!. In the next couple of
days I will put together a very simple program and send it to you
off-line showing an example of the unresolve-symbol segfaults and how
they need to be dealt with. I understand that apache+apr+aprutil is a
bit hard to swallow, and I committed work-arounds this weekend anyway
so some of that has to be backed out to reproduce.
re -brtl: Note that while -brtl doesn't seem necessarily harmful to me
when reading the doc, I have been told to stay away several times when
discussing a particular program. I would paraphrase the advice given
to me as "Don't use -brtl unless you really need to, and you don't
need to."
