Ugh, I lost a few bits of code when I split bootstrap up into
3 more manageable files.  Various fixes already pushed.

If you don't want to update yet, any of the following should
work regardless:

  ./bootstrap --copy --force --gnulib-srcdir /path/to/gnulib
  GNULIB_SRCDIR=/path/to/gnulib ./bootstrap --copy --force
