Hi

I'm a PhD candidate with 10+ years of Linux experience. I've given
various courses, prepared course content, prerequisite analysis,
assignments, various materials and syllabus about a wide variety of
F/OSS subjects.

Here are a few:

* CSE 2702 Free software philosophy and use (Bahcesehir University,
2002-2003 Spring semester)
* COMP 221 Linux and disk management (Bahcesehir University, 2002-2003
Fall semester)
* CSE 5501 Computer network organization (Bahcesehir University,
2003-2004 Spring semester) - (fully related to Linux networking)
* BIM 541 Operating systems, Linux and applications (Halic University,
2004-2005 Fall semester - continuing)

An EU-funded project (TOSSAD - towards open source software adoption and
dissemination) will start in February and has a workpackage related to
F/OSS education in universities. The main goal of this workpackage is to
evaluate the educational needs of industry to enhance the qualifications
in F/OSS, as well as to develop, revise and enhance adaptive and
flexible F/OSS training standards and curriculum.

The project's web page is not set up yet.

Best wishes and good luck with your p
Görkem

Hi

I wish you all a happy new year, 2005.

I am trying to find out if we can send one or two persons from Denmark
to the meeting in Barcelona on January 20th as observers.

So far I will be attending myself.
I am interested in the legal part of the education.

Could someone please mail me the link to the joint application from the
12 universities to the Erasmus Mundi program- the one with the names and
biographies?

Greetings

Anne

Hi all,

Thank you very much for your interest in next week's meeting. We'd be
most grateful if all the attendants added their names to the wiki's list:

http://barba.dat.escet.urjc.es:9080/masterMeeting/ProspectiveAttendance

so that we can make all the necessary arrangements (space, lunch, etc.) I
would also appreciate if you could tell me about personal meal constraints
(for instance, any of you is vegetarian or celiac?)

Best regards,

David

Greetings,

I was recently pointed in the direction of this list. At the Department
of Informatics here at Goteborg University in Sweden, we are just
accepting the last assignments from students of our course "Open
Source/Free software: Philosophy & theory"[1] which we started in November.

The course has had around 200 students (though we expect no more than
half of them to finish the course this time) and the length of it has
been 7.5 ECTS points. We have offered the course as a distance learning
course to anyone with English language skills that has been interested
in participating.

We are currently preparing for our next course, "Open Source/Free
Software: political science" (also 7.5 ECTS points), beginning in April
2005. The purpose of this course will be to study the effects of
technology on the political process by studying how the free
software/open source movements organises itself and acts to lobby and
affect political decisions in favour for the fundamental messages and
ideologies.
