Follow-up Comment #39, bug #61393 (project octave):

Seems to me your workarounds are fine: the core library does not use all that
== it's for the test programs.
Considering that Octave is only using the C/C++ interface of librsb, you can
even rebuild librsb turning Fortran off by passing FC=' ' and dropping
-lgfortran .
