Follow-up Comment #8:

I tracked down the problem and fixed it on the stable branch here
https://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/ca958ca8c921.  At the same time,
I noticed that the "PaperPosition" property was also being reset and I fixed
that too.

This should be a part of the 9.2 bug fix release.
