NO.
You do not need such privileges to run the system. Just set the right permissions for the the user. As explained in the wiki.

--Pascal

$sudo -s

$./paparazzi

    Hello,

I'd just suggest that you read the wiki ;-)

…and add the permission as mentionned here:
    http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/Installation chapter "setting access
    right for USB"

For the 2nd point : did you compile with "target=sim" before you
    ran the gcs ?

    Good luck

    Hi there,
    /
I tried to get the Paparazzi Center to upload sth to the Tiny (1.0).
    The centers answer is just:
      USB error: Operation not permitted/

    What have I to do?

another thing is, that the Simulation-window doesn't show anything
except a black area on the top, a grey one on the bottom and 4
blue arrows in the upper left corner. Is there sth wrong with my
paparazzi center or is it normal, that this window doesn't show
anything before the tiny is correctly connected?
