Hello everyone,

I hope I don't bug you with too many beginner's questions. I did a brief search
if this question was answered before, but it seems not to be the case.

I took my aircraft and laptop computer to the RC flying field for the first
time to see how the telemetry and GCS work.

Previously I had modified the "basic" flight plan to the coordinates of the
spot and did a google-maps-fill which was OK. Tried with the simulator. On the
flying field I did not have an internet connection, but loaded the existing map
tiles.

I have the modem and IR sensors installed and checked, but did not yet connect
receiver and servos. When someone picked up the plane and moved it around, we
saw the PFD reacting correctly (except for the correct values of the pitch
angle which I will take care of). The GPS had a fix with an accuracy of roughly
8m, my colleagues had fun observing the speed when I ran around carrying the
aircraft in my hand. So far, success.

I had expected to see the aircraft symbol on the map, hopefully moving around
when the aircraft was moved. I didn't see it. Tried to click "launch", don't
know if I have to. When I clicked on "fit to window", I was somewhere away from
the previously loaded map tiles and waypoints. The map section of the GCS was
all black, still no aircraft symbol.

Is there something obvious which I forgot? Else, I could provide my
configuration files, the flight plan and the log file.

Greetings, Martin
