We have the lea 5 h. I've been using an std I cable and the autopilot as a power regulator. I saw the battery port on the gps but I thought that was more of a backup system. I thought that we would be able to configure the gps without the battery. If the gps is unplugged it loses itsbroken config. I'll try using a battery
