Okay, like I said, I am not knowledgeable...

Here are the versioins of VNC that I was refering to...
Follow the lead, if you think it is worth doing so...

I will defer to your more knowledged judgement...

Announcing HWVNC: The HWVNC Server is a re-architected version of the
VNC
Unix Server. This allows the VNC server to run as a formal X extension
to an
existing X server. HWVNC uses the graphics hardware for rendering which
is
conceptually similar to how the Windows VNC Server works. A formal
driver
interface has been added to allow HWVNC to be ported to different X
Servers.
Currently, the HWVNC server is under development and ports to HP-UX and
Linux are planned. At this time we would like to solicit interest as
well as
feedback. We are hoping to make HWVNC available in the future.

If you are interested in learning more about HWVNC please contact the

How is this different from xf4vnc available at http://xf4vnc.sf.net ?

xf4vnc is vnc ported to XFree86 v4.x and has the standalone Xvnc and
a vnc.so module which loads into the XFree86 server for exporting
the local hardware accelerated display.
