It already does. The accessibility side is much more complicated
however. Thankfully Sun invested a huge amount of work in this and you
can use the Gnome desktop (or chunks of it - its not perfect yet) with
braille tools, with speech output, with simple large buttons (for people
with motor control problems) and so on.
