Searching through the mailing list i saw some gripes about why ssh 1 for
tla's sftp is not supported. Here are the reasons:
1. ssh 1's use is discouraged due to design flaws or something
2. ssh 1 doesn't have subsystems
3. location of installed binaries is not standardized
4. the sftp executable may or may not be in the path
5. tla uses urls for its location (ssh's command line sftp can get
away with lots of switches)
What this basically means is that to support ssh 1, there would have to
be some kind of a way to include the path to the sftp server executable
within the arch location url--a nasty hack that doesn't deserve
existence. So after some short discussion it was decided that ssh 1
wasn't worth the effort, and was officially not supported by arch.
now you know
