Hi again guys!

Well, finally I've found a few time to play with the Devil.

At http://www.gnurou.org/test.tgz you'll found a little Windows
executable along with a PNM file. As I don't have any Windows machine at
my home (I cross-compiled it from Linux), I'd like someone who has
access to a Windows machine to run it and tell me whether it works or
not. I might be able to test it myself tomorrow, but I'm far from being
sure.

Here is what to do:
-unpack the tgz to an empty directory. The safest thing to do is
certainly to open a console, go to that directory and run the executable
from there, although it might work from a file manager too.
-make SURE you run alextest.exe from the directory the PNM is in.
-it should switch to 640x480 (either by using DirectX or W32, depending
on SDL), display the PNM file and wait for you to press escape.
-normally (provided I know how to compile), SDL and Zlib are statically
linked to the binary, so you won't need any extra DLL. If you need them,
uhhh... good luck. I don't have them on my system (which is a good hint
to assume they are inside the binary, along with the executable size
compared to the Linux version).

This program includes the low-level gfx classes (screen, surface, image,
...), the new input system, and the time handling class. Actually,
nearly everything my map engine test needs.

If this one work, then bingo! The first step is done. Nothing should
prevent the map engine to work, and I feel like I'll get motivated to
get Python to link! (using a cross-compiler, of course :p)

Alex. (seeing ZT & Ben smiling from where he is)

German people, do you receive Arte too? There's a Thema about software
hackers this evening, that begin at 22 (french time) and there's a part
about free software, featuring Stallman, De Icaza, Linus, etc... - looks
very interesting.
