I don't see any difference in the standard's wording. They should
be treated the same.

It returns the empty string on both Solaris 2.5.1 sparc
(/usr/bin/expr) and Solaris 8 sparc (both /usr/bin/expr and
/usr/xpg4/bin/expr). For what it's worth, the standard requires this
behavior.
